The Hastings Fire and EMS Department responded to seven call for service last week, including a grass fire in the 1600 block of Rivershore Drive. According to the fire report, the fire did not damage any buildings or other structures, and the cause of the fire is listed as hot coals. The Department was also called to a trash fire on Meggan Drive. Damage at this fire was estimated at $5,000, but no death or injury was reported.
