County Emergency Services Receives Grant

Dakota County Commissioner Joe Atkins has announced that the County has received a grant for equipment to support first responders and the Dakota County Special Operations Team. The grant will be used for continued funding of the County’s 800 MHz radio, and to maintain the emergency operations center equipment and software. The Special Operations Team is made up of 36 people, with members from the County and all 11 cities, representing fire, law enforcement, and emergency medical services. The team responds to incidents involving hazardous materials, technical rescues and collapsed structures at locations throughout the County.
