Speech Contest Winners Named

The Prescott High School Forensics team competed at the 125th annual Wisconsin High School Forensics Association State Tournament on Friday, April 16th. This year, the students competed virtually from Prescott and were rated on rubrics in their separate categories; and medals were awarded based on those scores. The Prescott School District reported that, overall, the team received 11 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. Sophia Tibayan earned her fourth gold medal in State competition, an accomplishment achieved by only 24 students in Wisconsin in 2021 and only the 4th in PHS history. Gold medals went to: Sophia Tibayan (Public Address), Ella Johnson (Public Address), Macy Cleasby (Public Address), Maddie Tibayan (Oratory), Ella Schommer (Oratory), Shelby Sizemore (Impromptu), Addison Huppert (Informative), Rian Engeldinger (Informative), Erica Jennings (Informative), Jade Johnson (Prose), and Kira Chesney (Storytelling). Silver medals went to: Shayla Rein (Informative), Madison Schmitz (Informative), Kyle Holtan (Moments in History), Mallory Boles (Oratory), Kelcey Hanson (Oratory), Emma Fiedler (Poetry), Faith Rohl (Prose), Shelby Sizemore (Poetry), and Grace Gale (Storytelling). Bronze medals went to: Abby Holz (Prose and Farrago), Clint Sizemore (Prose) and Mabel Rohl (Radio News Reporting). Excellence and Distinction in Speech awards (team awards) will be announced on April 26th.
