One of the hidden gems of Hastings, Dakota County’s Spring Lake Park Reserve, was recently featured in the Star Tribune for efforts to preserve Native American history. Now, Commissioner Joe Atkins reports that the story has also been prominently featured in the New York Times, in a story that ran in a recent weekend edition of the Times. The Times article included Spring Lake Park Reserve as one of 8 parks nationwide to celebrate indigenous heritage and culture.
