A grassroots effort to commemorate the historic significance of Black Americans in the early development of Hastings is now underway, and representatives of the organization “Building Remembrance for Reconciliation” were in attendance at Thursday’s Mural Dedication at HFS. Andy Binzman commented on the efforts of the group.
The focal point of the effort is the AME Church, named Brown’s Chapel, built by early black settlers in Hastings.
