U. S. Rep. Angie Craig announced last week that the U.S. Department of Justice approved the Dakota County Sheriff’s application for a grant to assist with purchasing body cameras for deputies while on duty. Sheriff Tim Leslie commented on the grant.
The nearly $170,000 grant is a part of the DOJ’s Body-Worn Camera Implementation Program, and the DCSO should have the funds and purchase the cameras by May.
