Board Members Pull Books From Sale

It is being reported from parents of Middle School students in Hastings that two members of the Hastings School Board were in attendance at a book sale held at the school on Tuesday, and were seen removing books from the sale. According to one parent, “two new school board members took it upon themselves to go through the entire book fair selection and pulled [sic] books that they decided were not appropriate to have available for sale.” The parent went on to say that “other volunteers noticed what they did and the books were returned to the shelves.” The board members were identified as Carrie Tate and Jessica Dressely. KDWA has reached out to each of them for comment.
