The Hastings Police Department logged 42 entries to the Police Blotter for the week ending February 21st. Among the calls was a traffic accident on the 15th at the intersection of 4th and Ashland Streets at 5 PM. The investigation resulted in a citation issued to 73-year-old Hastings resident Robert Melson for failure to yield the right of way. On the 17th at 2 AM, K9 Sonny was requested to assist the Rosemount Police on a traffic stop near the intersection of Chippendale Avenue and 170th Street. The blotter report indicates that K9 Sonny performed an inspection of the vehicle, but does not indicate if any contraband was found. And on the 19th at 12:15 PM, HPD assisted the State Patrol at a rollover accident on Highway 61 at 15th Street. HPD provided traffic control while the State Patrol processed the scene. All persons listed on the blotter report are presumed innocent until proven guilty by due process of law.
