Lake Isabel Project Receives Grant

The City of Hastings has received a $240,000 federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) matching grant from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to redevelop Lake Isabel Park, a popular park just south of the Mississippi River. The grant will allow the city to provide an enhanced park experience for visitors of all ages. Lake Isabel is the largest lake in the city and located just east of downtown Hastings. It’s widely used by residents and visitors alike and has not been updated in nearly 25 years. Construction is anticipated to begin this spring with planning completion within the 2022 construction season. The total cost of the redevelopment is estimated to be $480,000. The project is currently out for bids, which are due Feb. 10. Learn more about the plans via the City website.
