The Hastings Planning Commission held a Public hearing for a proposed chemical addiction recovery facility in the 300 block of 5th Street East, submitted by Rise Up Recovery. Community Development Director John Hinzman provided an overview of the proposed facility.
A public hearing opened with two individuals providing comment pertaining to the fit of the facility within the neighborhood and specific operational questions. Commissioners discussed operation of the facility, treatment status of residents, expertise of employees, and parking, and voted 7-0 to table action until the February 28th meeting to give the Commission time to research the proposal further.
