The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 61 Southbound and Manning Avenue. Just after 2:45 Hastings and Cottage Grove units were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident. CPR was performed on a subject at the scene but at least one person was pronounced deceased.
The State Patrol will investigate the crash through reconstruction and will provide updates when available.
The accident snarled traffic in multiple directions for miles and for hours, complicating the drive home for many.
