Hastings Fire Report

The Hastings Fire Department filed reports for incidents thru March 24. On March 24 at 5:06 p.m. firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident at Point Douglas Drive South and 120th Street South. Fire crews arrived at 5:12 and cleared at 5:33. There were no injuries. On March 22 at 2:49 p.m. Hastings Fire was dispatched mutual aid to the fire in Welch that we reported earlier this week. On March 21 at 5:50 p.m. firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 17000 block of Knox Path. Crews arrived at 5:57 p.m., controlled at 6:32 and the last unit cleared at 9:19. Miesville and Randolph-Hampton Fire Department assisted on this call. The fire did an estimated 50,000 dollars in property damage with another 15,000 in contents damage. 24 firefighters put the flames out. The busy week of fires continued one day earlier on March 21, when Hastings was requested mutual aid with a crew for a structure fire in Saint Paul Park on Pullman Avenue. Hastings Fire was dispatched at 8:16 a.m. arrived at 8:31 a.m. and cleared at 9:01 a.m. On March 21 at 1:21 p.m. Hastings Fire was dispatched to a grass fire in the 7800 block of Manning Avenue South. Crews arrived at 1:31, controlled the fire at 1:40 and cleared at 1:57. On march 21 at 3:41 a.m. Hastings Fire was dispatched to a gas leak in the 600 block of 35th Street West. Units arrived at 3:48 and cleared at 4:05 On March 20 at 1:30 p.m. Hastings Fire was dispatched to a gas leak in the 1000 block of Bailly Street. Units arrived at 1:33 and cleared at 2:03. On March 18 at 12:16 p.m. Hastings Fire was dispatched to a brush or grass fire in the 20000 block of Lillehei Avenue. Units arrived at 12:24, controlled the fire at 12:55 and cleared at 1:28.
