Public Safety Director Pete Koerner has announced his retirement from the Cottage Grove Public Safety Department.
He began as a Community Service Officer in 1992 and rose to Police Chief and Director of Public Safety, earning the community’s trust through his leadership, dedication, and humor. We thank Pete for his decades of service and wish him and his family all the best as he transitions to new ways of serving our city. Effective April 2, 2026, Captain Brad Petersen will serve as Acting Director of Public Safety.
