Crestview Pointe Aims to Meet Growing Demand for Affordable Senior Housing

On April 30, the Dakota County Community Development Agency (CDA), in partnership with the City of Inver Grove Heights, celebrated the groundbreaking of Crestview Pointe, the newest development in the CDA’s affordable senior housing program.

Located on Cahill Avenue behind Walmart in Inver Grove Heights, next to its sister property, Hillcrest Pointe, Crestview Pointe will provide 57 affordable apartment homes for seniors age 62 and older.

The development will offer a mix of one- and two-bedroom units designed to support independent living and help meet the growing demand for affordable housing in Dakota County.

Construction is currently underway, with the development expected to open late summer 2027. Crestview Pointe will have similar amenities to other Dakota County CDA communities, including an underground parking garage, community room, fitness room, club room, and screened porch.

Rents at this property will follow the flat rent schedule in the CDA’s Senior Housing Program, which are currently $820 for a one-bedroom and $1,004 for a two-bedroom.

For seniors interested in living at Crestview Pointe, the CDA is offering brief tours and information at Hillcrest Pointe (9170 Cahill Avenue, Inver Grove Heights) from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17; Wednesday, July 15; and Wednesday, August 19.

Staff will provide tours and can assist households with applying to the waiting list.
