Dave Pemble Seeks Another Term on Hastings City Council

Hastings City Councilmember Dave Pemble has announced his campaign for re-election to the council’s At-Large seat.

Pemble has served on the council since 2022 and says he is seeking another term to continue focusing on issues affecting local families, businesses, seniors, and neighborhoods.

Before joining the City Council, Pemble served four years on the Hastings School Board and participated in a number of community organizations and commissions, including the Hastings Public Advisory Commission, the city’s 2030 Comprehensive Plan Committee, the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Hastings Police Reserve, where he served for more than 25 years. He is also a former member of the Lakeside Cemetery Board.

During his time on the council, Pemble has represented Hastings on the Great River Rail Commission and the Red Rock Corridor Commission. He currently serves on several city committees and boards, including the Operations Committee, Utilities Committee, Historic Preservation Commission, HEDRA Commission, and the Dakota 911 Board of Directors.

Pemble says his campaign priorities include responsible city budgeting, support for public safety services, continued efforts to improve water quality, economic development that strengthens the city’s tax base, and ensuring Hastings residents have a voice throughout the Highway 61 construction project.

Pemble says his experience in city government has given him a broad perspective and the ability to balance new ideas with proven approaches. He also says that being retired allows him the time to remain active and accessible to residents.

The Hastings municipal election will be held later this year, with voters deciding several local offices, including City Council seats.
