Farmington Hit-and-Run: Vehicle Update

The Farmington Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a juvenile earlier this month.

Investigators believe the suspect vehicle is a silver or gray 2008 to 2011 Ford Focus with front-end and passenger-side damage. The vehicle is also believed to be missing its passenger-side exterior mirror, which was recovered at the crash scene.

The hit-and-run happened at 9:44 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, as two juvenile boys were crossing Minnesota Highway 50 at Dushane Parkway, near McDonald’s.

One of the boys, who was riding a bicycle, was struck and killed by a westbound vehicle. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

The investigation remains active, and police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about a silver or gray Ford Focus with recent front-end or passenger-side damage to contact the Farmington Police Department at 651-280-6700.

Even the smallest detail could help investigators identify the vehicle and the driver responsible.
