Six errors led to a Hastings baseball upset loss at South St. Paul on Tuesday, falling 8-4 as heard live on KDWA, ending the Raiders chances at a tie for a conference championship. The Raiders committed two errors and gave up too many free passes over the first two innings of play, allowing the Packers to score three runs in each of the first and second innings. The Raiders took advantage of a Packers error to plate two runs in the second, and would add another two runs in the third, but were unable to score after that as another error led to another run late as the Packers added insurance. Head coach Ryan Stoffel said it’s hard to win when you make that many mistakes early. The Raiders are now 12-5 overall, and travel to Woodbury tomorrow.
