In Hastings, if you travel near the east side rail corridor, be aware of rail maintenance taking place this week.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKC) is performing maintenance on the rail spur running between 2nd Street East, parallel to Bailly Street, along King Midas Lane, and ending near Ardent Mills on 18th Street East.
Crews are replacing railway ties and resurfacing the track.
Work may take place between 2:00 a.m. and noon, with mobile lighting used during overnight operations to safely illuminate the work area.
The maintenance project is expected to be completed by the end of the week on July 24.
Motorists and nearby residents are asked to use caution around work crews and equipment.
