Hastings High School Announces Dustin Vogelgesang as New Head Boys Hockey Coach

Hastings High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Dustin Vogelgesang as the new Head Boys Hockey Coach.

A 1999 graduate of Hastings High School, Dustin was a three-sport athlete during his time as a Raider and has remained deeply connected to the Hastings community throughout his coaching career. He brings a wealth of experience at both the youth and high school levels, including 11 years of coaching in Hastings—six at the youth level and five as a varsity assistant.

Most recently, Dustin spent 13 years coaching at East Ridge High School, including four years as a varsity assistant and nine years as head coach. During his tenure, he was named the 2020 Section 4 Coach of the Year, reflecting both program success and his commitment to player development.

At the state and national level, Dustin has contributed to the growth of the game.  He has served as an assistant coach for Team Minnesota at the USA Hockey National Camp, a coach, evaluator, and manager for the Minnesota High Performance Program, and is currently the Executive Director of the MN Hockey Coaches Association.

“Coming back home to Hastings is incredibly special to me,” said Dustin. “This program and community helped shape who I am, and I’m honored for the opportunity to lead the next generation of Raiders. I’m excited to get started!”

HHS looks forward to the leadership and passion Coach Vogelgesang will bring to the hockey program and the broader school community. Information regarding upcoming player meetings and summer training opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.
