Hastings Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvement Project Update

You may have noticed the construction underway on Pleasant Drive between Highway 55 and 4th Street West. As a driver you might have be rerouted to the detour. This work marks Phase One of the Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvement Project.

According to the latest construction update from the City of Hastings, crews completed installation of the temporary watermain system over the past week. The system has successfully passed all required safety and cleanliness testing, and contractors have begun connecting affected homes to the temporary water supply.

Residents scheduled for temporary water service will be notified directly by a door hanger or a phone call.

The city also reports that tree removal operations have been completed, and watermain improvement work officially began on June 5th.

For the week of June 8th, watermain improvements will continue throughout the project area. Some residents may experience temporary water service interruptions as work progresses. Anyone impacted by a planned shutdown will receive advance notice through a door hanger.

Construction crews will also continue street removal and site preparation activities.

Residents are reminded not to move or disturb the wooden survey stakes placed throughout the neighborhood, as they are critical to ongoing construction operations.

In addition, residents are asked to avoid parking on streets under construction between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to help crews work safely and efficiently.

The City of Hastings thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as these important infrastructure improvements move forward.

Stay tuned to KDWA for future construction updates.
