KDWA Kicks Off Parks and Recreation Month Series Featuring Spring Lake Park Reserve

July is Parks and Recreation Month, and KDWA is kicking off a series of weekly reports highlighting Dakota County Parks.

Throughout the month, we’ll be showcasing different Dakota County parks that folks will want to explore.

We begin our series with a focus on Spring Lake Park Reserve, a destination known for its scenic landscapes, outdoor recreation, and one of its newest and most unique attractions—a resident bison herd.

KDWA connected with Dakota County Parks Operations Supervisor Grant Fleetwood to learn more about the park, its seasonal highlights, and how it fits into this year’s theme of “the power of play.”
