Hastings Family Service Matching Gift Campaign Aims to Boost Support for Community

Hastings Family Service is encouraging community members to give during a special July fundraising campaign that stretches every donation further.

Through July 31st, gifts to Hastings Family Service will receive a proportionate match through the Open Your Heart Summer Challenge, helping meet increased demand for food assistance and support for unhoused neighbors during the summer months.

Executive Director Amy Sutton says more families are being forced to choose between groceries, gas, rent, and childcare, making community support more important than ever.

The need continues to grow. Over the past five years, the number of food shelf orders at Hastings Family Service has nearly tripled. Programs Director Amy Tix says the organization also distributed more than 1,850 free bagged lunches for children in June, while continuing efforts to reach more neighbors throughout the community.
