Miesville Baseball Continues Streak, Takes Down Rochester

The Miesville Mudhens baseball team continued their winning streak on Sunday as they took down the Rochester Royals 6-4 as heard live on KDWA and KDWA.com via Boxcast. The Mudhens jumped out early 1-0 on a Joey Werner RBI single, only to see Rochester score twice in the second inning to lead 2-1. Miesville answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning taking advantage of two Royals errors to get the lead back 3-2. Miesville would add to their run total in the fourth inning plating three runs getting RBI hits from Ronnie Sweeny and Brock Rinehart and scoring another run off of a Royals error to build the lead to 6-2. That score would hold until the seventh inning when the Royals scored two to cut the deficit in half, but Brody Illa came on to get the save in the final inning to preserve the win.

Jac Wright earned the win on the mound pitching six innings giving up just two hits and two runs, and Eddie Peine went 1-2 at the plate with three walks, and Werner went 2-4 getting on base four times on the day. Miesville has now won five in a row dating back to June 5th, and is now 8-2 on the season. They will travel to Northfield on Wednesday.
