Neighborhood Infrastructure Project Continues in Hastings

Construction continues this week for the City of Hastings’ 2026 Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvements project.

During the past week, crews completed storm sewer improvements between the intersection of Pleasant Drive and 4th Street and Westview Drive. Road-base preparation along Pleasant Drive has also been finished, boulevard grading is underway, and testing of the new water main has been completed.

All homes along Pleasant Drive have now been switched over to the new water main, with normal water service restored.

Looking ahead for the week of July 20, street removal work is set to begin on 4th Street. Crews will also start installing concrete curbs and driveways along Pleasant Drive between Highway 55 and 4th Street. Residents affected by temporary access restrictions will receive door hanger notices.

A temporary water main system will also be installed along 4th Street to maintain service during construction. Residents who will be connected to the temporary system will receive additional information before the changeover.

Meanwhile, boulevard grading will continue along Pleasant Drive as crews prepare for new sidewalks and trail construction.

Drivers should note that the intersection of Pleasant Drive and 4th Street remains closed.

Residents are also reminded not to disturb construction stakes and to avoid parking on streets under construction between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Anyone with questions about the project can contact the Hastings Engineering Department at 651-480-2334.
