The Hastings VFW Post 1210 made a $1,500 donation to the Hastings Raiders archery team.
KDWA spoke with VFW Post 1210 Commander Mark Gelhar, who explained that the organization typically focuses on graduation scholarships during the month of May. However, after learning the Hastings High School archery team had once again qualified for nationals, the VFW decided to make an exception.
Gelhar shared what it means for the VFW to support these student-athletes and others throughout the community.
