The Spring Musical, produced by Hastings High School students and performed 3 times during the weekend, was a rousing success with more than 60 singers, actors, musicans and dancers taking on the popular Disney’s “High School Musical” play. Those in attendance on opening night were enthusiastic at the energetic dance numbers, the excellent visual presentation and the performances of talented Hastings youth. Backed by a pit orchestra directed by Erik Pearson, the musical was an entertaining evening full of familiar faces and music that reminded several in the audience of their experiences in high school. The effective staging and colorful costuming showed great attention to detail and the painted scenery captured the feel of a high school gymnasium. Participants want to thank the community for their support of the production and the staff and parents that helped to make it possible.
