Students from Hastings High School and other volunteers participated in a conservation tree planting effort along the Vermillion River on Thursday morning. Hastings High School Biology teacher Joe Beattie organized the collaborative project.
Beattie talked about the goals of the project.
Volunteer Dwight Smith from the Hastings Eviromental Protectors said this is just one of many events groups like his undertake throughout the year to conserve the areas natural beauty.
