Holiday Hoopla!

The fourth annual Holiday Hoopla took place on Saturday with many activities that had families enjoying the start of the holiday season. From reindeer pulling a little sled under the bridge to giant horses pulling people mover wagons down the street, the downtown came alive with music, food, friends and even a visit by the Grinch! Olivers’ Grove Park was a busy place with lines queued up waiting for a photo with a fully decked-out lighted sleigh and the man in green smiling widely. The man in red, Santa Claus, was there too, and posed for lots of photos along the sidewalk as children whispered their wishes in his ear. The event, planned by the Downtown Business Association, was held on Small Business Saturday, and gave the shops a chance to show off their holiday selections. The daylong event concluded with the lighted parade, a tradition that has grown throughout the years.
