New Features For Olivers Grove Park

An update on the new features being put into place in Downtown Hastings Oliver’s Grove Park. Features including seating areas, greenspace and new plantings will be highlighted by a special water feature that has been designed to reflect a local flavor. Public Works Director Nick Egger provides a description of what is in store.

The feature will have some special components. Egger said even though the season is near the end, those installing the piece will need to make sure it works, before turning it off

No timetable on the completion date, but another aspect, located closer to the river is taking shape as well. Two pair of massive brick columns are being readied for the iron arches that will be place over the street at the entries to Levee Park. The dual message sign will welcome everyone to the Hastings Riverwalk and on the reverse side, a welcome to Historic Downtown Hastings. Placement of those arches will wait until the columns are completed, one of the remaining tasks left in phase three of the Riverfront Renassiance.
