Bill Schaffer of Hastings, has been honored with Second Place in the Irrigated Class of the 2013 National Corn Yeild Contest on February 28th. The Contest is sponsored annually by the National Corn Growers Association. Schaffer has more about the contest, and how he got into it.
Schaffer’s yeild was 253.7353 bushels per acre. To figure out how that number came about, KDWA spoke with the Manager of the National Corn Yield Contest, Rachel Jungerman.
