Update: Early Morning Assault at Perkins

Here is an update to the Early Morning Assault story, reported by KDWA, last week. On Friday, May 9th, there was an altercation outside of Perkins Restaurant in Hastings, early in the morning. There were two individuals outside the restaurant who seemed to be fighting. By the time police arrived, Bradley Sanders, age 32 of Bakersfield, Missouri, was laying on the ground unresponsive. After first aid was provided, he was immediately transported to United Hospital in St. Paul. Sanders passed away later last week, the exact date has not been disclosed, and the cause is still undetermined. The other individual at the scene, James Phenix, age 27 of West Plains, Missouri, was arrested and taken to Dakota County Jail. Earlier this week he was released pending further investigation. This case will be presented to the Dakota County Attorney’s Office for review, once the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the exact cause of death.
