HHS Show Choirs Preview Show Debuts

The new season for the Hastings High School Show choirs debuted Monday night in front of a sold out auditorium. From the first days of auditions last May, to the January 5th preview show, the three Hastings show choirs have honed their skills in singing, dancing and smiling to bring a competition-ready stage performance to their hometown audience. In the 3 groups, Divaz, Upstage Revolution and Riverside Company, are 162 students comprising each 20 minute presentation plus 15 student musicians who accompany each group as the back up band. The choirs are led by first year director Michelle Braun and veterans Meghan Quinn and Lin Warren. A team of 6 crew members handle costumes, props and other logistics to assemble a smoothly running machine of enthusiasm, talent and energy. The preview show is the beginning of a 3 month season of traveling for the choirs as they compete in several multi-choir events in addition to the hosting of the February 21st Swinging on the River that is held at Hastings High School.
