Bloomington Students to Visit Extreme Sandbox

Extreme Sandbox of Hastings is partnering with Ziegler CAT to host a Heavy Equipment Camp for 16 students from Bloomington Kennedy High School. Extreme Sandbox provides adult clients with the experience of operating heavy machinery under safe, supervised conditions. The Heavy Equipment Camp will teach students about job opportunities in heavy equipment operations and diesel mechanics, and receive valuable hands-on exposure to these trades by actually operating excavators and skid steers, under direction from professional instructors. Extreme Sandbox owner, Randy Stenger says the program helps students learn about skilled labor job options that pay well and are in demand. The company has received positive feedback from similar pilot programs with Hastings, Tartan and North St. Paul students and would like to see the program expand to other school districts.
