SUV Crashes Through CG Residence

Early Wednesday morning, Cottage Grove police officers responded to a report of an SUV that crashed through the garage, went through a family room and continued out the back of the house smashing through the sliding glass door. The driver of the SUV then crashed through the fence and drove back into the garage. The suspect fled the scene, was located a short distance away hiding under a vehicle, and was taken into custody. The suspect was arrested for DWI and additional offenses. After further investigations, officers found that the suspect had been involved in a domestic with his wife before intentionally driving his SUV through his rented house. A 38-year-old Cottage Grove man was transported to the Washington County Jail pending review by the Washington County Attorney’s Office for formal complaint charging. A condemnation notice was placed at the home by the City’s Chief Building Official due to structural damage. The Woodbury Police and Washington County Sheriff’s Department assisted on the call.
