Here’s an update on the report of an ethics complaint filed by Minnesota House Representative Phyllis Kahn of Minneapolis against fellow representative Denny McNamara of Hastings. The complaint alleges that McNamara accused Kahn and Minneapolis Park Board Lobbyist Brian Rice of being conniving and screamed at them repeatedly during a meeting on Saturday, May 16th in Rep. McNamara’s office, that was also attended by State Representative Dennis Smith. A statement released by Kahn states the event stemmed from an allegation Rep. McNamara had brought to Kahn, claiming that the Minneapolis Park Board was no longer doing as much business with his family’s nursery company as political payback. Kahn gives her account of the meeting.
McNamara responded to the accusation.
Further action on the complaint now is in the hands of Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Daudt.
