On Tuesday evening just before 9:00pm, the managers of the Hastings Walgreens were alerted to an unattended briefcase sitting in the middle of the parking lot. KDWA News reporter Kelly Casey noticed the case and asked staff on hand if they were aware of the case and whether law enforcement should be notified. Staff had already placed a call to Hastings Police who sent officers to investigate. Customers in the store were questioned as were those walking thru the lot at the time of the incident. It is not known whether or not video surveillance would provide more information or the outcome of the event. KDWA did place a call for further details to Hastings Police, but did not receive information prior to our news deadline. We will continue to follow the story and bring our listeners additional information if it becomes available.
