State Patrol on Unsafe Driving

Traffic hazards are often other motorists. The Minnesota State Patrol would like the public to be aware that the sooner an unsafe driver is off the road, the better the chances in preventing accidents. If you see unsafe driving, witness a motorist weaving in between lanes or exhibiting other dangerous behavior, contact 911. District 2400 of the State Patrol covers Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, East Metro, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington counties. If you witness an accident, make sure to pull off the roadway where you can safely give a complete account of the location using the nearest cross streets or gps information, vehicle license plate number, if possible, and the type of incident you are reporting. Patrols are dispatched from several locations so be sure to confirm the city you are nearest when you make that call. In related news from the Minnesota State Patrol, every driver of a motor vehicle involved in a crash that results in injury or death, or total property damage of $1,000 or more, is required to file a crash report within 10 days of the incident.
