Update on School Board Election Filings

The filing period for District 200 open school board positions began on July 28th and thus far, 3 incumbents and one other district resident have filed to return to the board with a vote November 3rd to determine who will fill the four regular seats which are four year terms and the one 2 year term postion which is also open at this time. Vince O’Brien, Andy Bertram and Lisa Hedin have officially filed to be considered. Joe Becker, a Hastings resident, has also filed to be placed on the ballot. Filing will remain open until Tuesday, August 11th at 5:00pm and takes place at the District Office, located at the Hastings Middle School. There is a 2 dollar filing fee and potential candidates must be an eligible voter, must be 21 or older, have been a resident of the district 30 days before the general election and must not be currently running for another district office at the same election.
