Prescott School Levy Results

In February the Prescott School District asked voters to provide funding for operating expenses in the amount of 1.46 million dollars. That levy was defeated. The school board and superintendent then rolled up their sleeves and took the reality of the loss of those dollars to the people and over the past 3 months, provided detailed education on just what it would mean to the school and to the community. From class cuts, staff reductions, program elimination and even the end of in town bussing for all students, the information that may have been blurred by funding for the new high school, was presented in a matter of fact method, one geared to show the impact of another No vote. On Wednesday, the question faced the community again, and this time Superintendent Dr. Rick Spicuzza felt the message was heard. In a late evening call to KDWA Spicuzza reveals the outcome.
