From area accident reports. An accident that took place on Friday afternoon sent seven people to area hospitals, 40-year-old Tarah D. Defrang of Red Wing, was traveling Southbound on Highway 316. Her vehicle veered into the Northbound lane of traffic hitting the a car driven by a 71-year-old Savage, Minnesota man head on. Her car then hit another Northbound vehicle. The crash caused all seven people in the three vehicles to be transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. And a 57-year-old Coon Rapids man, Robert S. Kary, was killed early Saturday morning when a semi truck he was driving went off the road at Highway 316 and 200th Street South of Hastings where it hit a tree. Kary was pronounced dead at the scene.
