Amber Alert Support In MN

With the news Saturday morning that there had been a likely end to the search for Jacob Wetterling, the questions and emotions from almost 27 years brought a serious tone to many events that took place over the Labor Day weekend. At the downtown cruise in on Saturday night, and on the patio of the American Legion, several conversations were overheard that discussed the sadness and frustration of grandparents and parents who waited along with the rest of the world, hoping that somehow the young boy from St. Joseph Minnesota would return home. The Minnesota Amber Alert Fundraiser, based in Hastings, welcomed Patty Wetterling at their motorcycle run fundraiser several times. Their efforts focus on keeping the public informed when children go missing and because of those efforts, Ron Trejo, president of the local group, says that more than 800 children in the US were found and returned home following Amber Alert information that is sent to phones, placed on Highway signs and shared through social media. The local group is deeply invested in providing necessary funding to support the work done to bring abducted children home.
