Firefighters Booya Serves Hungry Crowd

The 76th annual Firefighters Booya took place on Sunday at the KC hall in South Hastings. Lines trailed out into the parking lot as hungry families lined up for the tasty stew. The Grand Booya Captain, Chris Paulson, provided some reflection on the hard work and sense of community this event is alway sure to bring.
The main ingredient is always the people.

One tradition is the line of customers that come with ice cream pails for take out orders.

The grand total was 1130 gallons of the meaty mixture that cooked for hours in giant kettles. Paulson stated it wouldn’t be possible without generous donors.
