It was time Tuesday night to open the doors to the newest point of pride in Prescott. The evening Open House at the new High School welcomed a large crowd, who walked thru the glass doors to ooh and ahh over large classrooms, new technology and the shiny gym floor accompanied by members of the Prescott School board, teachers and support staff. Mayor David Hovel addressed the crowd from a stage erected at the front doors and members of the school board took turns praising the efforts of the community as well as the team of employees who made this step possible. Shifting of building in a school district this size is a formidable task and everyone in attendance applauded the transition made by years of hard work. The adjoining auditorium is set to open next month, giving the district 500 seats to the best show in town.
