The Hastings Basketball Boosters have awarded the Silent Raider Award to the Voice of the Raiders Nick Tuckner of KDWA sports. The boosters have been presenting this award for the past four years to honor people and businesses in the Hastings community who are making a difference in the lives of the players. Presenting the award on behalf of the basketball boosters were board members Brain Davis and Chad Feikema. Known to most as Tuck, this sports announcer espouses enthusiasm where ever he goes and covers team sports for those who can’t make it to the field, rink, court or stadium, with listeners all over the nation able to hear his expert play by play online as well. A Raider through and through, in his 15 seasons of announcing sports for KDWA,Nick has received multiple honors including the Minnesota News Network Best Play by Play Award, Prescott’s Friend of Baseball Award and was inducted last year into the Cottage Grove Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.
