The Hastings Fire Department was called to Hastings Middle School early Wednesday morning in response to an alarm in an mechanical room. According to the Hastings Middle School website smoke was detected due to a mechanical malfunction and there was no fire. Hastings Fire Chief Mike Schutt provides the details of the call.
Chief Schutt indicated that all systems and procedures in place worked as planned.
There were no injuries.
