A Friday morning surprise for Hastings Vocal Teacher Lin Warren. The FOX 9 television crew made a visit during the end of the week Select Chorale rehearsal at Hastings High School. Surrounded by students, staff and wife Kathy, Warren was presented with the Top Teacher Award, garnering him thunderous applause, a small crystal apple and a check for 900 dollars. His name was submitted to the program for consideration earlier this year. Warren will retire from District 200 at the end of this school year following 33 years of teaching vocal music. Lin and Kathy’s son Luke has accepted the position left by the retirement and will begin his duties by overseeing the audition process for showchoir that takes place May 24th.
