Reserve Officers Take Oath

On Monday night, 4 reserve officers were sworn in during the Hastings City Council Meeting. Chief Bryan Schafer introduces the officers- Cody Jones, Alexander Amundson, Gino Messina and Nate Christianson- and Administrative Services Director Julie Flaten administered the oath of office. The ceremony included having their badges pinned as they faced the council dais, with Mayor Hicks making these comments to welcome them to their new roles.

The reserves play a large part in allowing community events such as the Cruise Ins and Rivertown Days to go smoothly with residents, guests and visitors benefitting from the added resource between 2,500 and 5,000 volunteer hours per year to the community through the Police Department.
