The annual State of the County message was given on April 4th by Dakota County Board of Commissioners Chair Kathleen Gaylord who provided a review of highlights accomplishments and even some challenges experienced by the county in 2017. Hosted by the Combined Chambers of Commerce at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul, Gaylord gave credit to the partnerships responsible for continued success.
Knowing how Dakota County residents respond to the lifestyle provided is a key factor.
Challenges remain, however, as Gaylord acknowledged sectors that fall short, including affordable housing, homelessness and opioid addiction.
She also looked toward a strong future and credited caring, competent individuals for maintaining the high standard of living valued by Dakota County Residents.
