A planned 1,556 housing-unit development at UMore Park in Rosemount has been tabled. According to an article published on the Sun This Week website, Newland Communities terminated its purchase agreement with the University of Minnesota. Newland Communities advisor David Newman said they are not proceeding due to the loss of their financing in June. Newman said Newland Communities reached out to other potential financial partners to complete the project, but they were unable to find a suitable group. Earlier this year, Newland Communities shared a concept plan to develop 435 acres within UMore Park south of County Road 42 and west of Akron Avenue and Dakota County Technical College.
