Based on the most recent guidelines from the “Stay Safe MN” plan, unknown dates, and unidentified group gathering restrictions for outdoor entertainment, the Hastings Parks and Recreation Department has decided to cancel all scheduled June events. Staff will follow guidelines set for Phase 3 and 4 once dates and restrictions are released for the potential of phased opening of outdoor entertainment. According to Paige Marschall Bigler, coordination with many partners, supporters, and performers requires advance planning. Staff regularly work 4-6 weeks ahead of the events calendar to plan and prepare for events. Staff will continue working 4-6 weeks ahead of the calendar, allowing staff to appropriately plan with program partners, assess and modify events and determine event feasibility following guidelines.
